Is this your first time playing Dungeons & Dragons?
Then this adventure and this Dungeon Master (DM) are perfect for you.
You just arrived in the regional capital of Neverwinter after a long journey from Baldur’s Gate. You got your first job – and immediately all hell breaks loose as two of your dearest friends get into trouble:
Your new employer and his purse full of gold coins! Will you be the hero who will save your employer and rescue your dearest treasure: Your salary for the job? 🙂
In this 2-hour “Learn to play” session we will play the first adventure from the Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set: “The Lost Mine of Phandelver!”.
I love this setup, because it offers you a very easy way to learn the game mechanics *as you play*.
Before I started to actually PLAY Dungeons & Dragons I felt completely overwhelmed. I wanted to play so badly – but I didn’t know where to start – and all the guide books and online videos didn’t provide what I really needed:
A human person who would guide me through my first game – and answer my questions as they came up.
I think I needed about half a year before I finally joined my first campaign. My first GM was a great guy from Uruguay who patiently explained my options and answered my questions as they came along.
(And then he watched in horror as my creative choices destroyed his pre-meditated plans for the evening. It was great fun for both of us. :))
I want you to have the same great experience with me as your Game Master (GM).
You will learn as you play. And we will both have fun. 🙂
And if you enjoy this one session:
Then “Phandelver and Below” offers you a whole campaign with an epic story of conspiracy and deceit, heroic quests and great friendships with your fellow players – and at the end a treasure beyond your wildest dreams.
Don’t ask anymore IF Dungeons & Dragons is the right game for you – but let me ask you instead:
“How do you wanna do this?” 🙂
Sign up now and we start playing!
I wish you joy. Chris

About Chris Pyak
I will make sure that you have a great time playing Dungeons & Dragons. Together we will create a wonderful world and experience great adventures. I run beginner friendly campaigns that allow you to pick up the rules as you play along.
We will play Dungeons & Dragons by the rules – with stress on the very FIRST RULE:
Fun comes first! – If you have the chance to do something cool, but it would break the rule: Then the rule will break.
I am here for you – not the rulebook. 😉
I enjoy new discoveries, adventures and a good laugh. Diversity in all it’s forms makes our lives richer and more interesting. As a European writer and coach I have lived in seven different countries within Europe. Originally from Düsseldorf in Germany, I now live in Santander, Spain.
I speak several languages, but my games are mostly in English. (If you want me to run a game for your friends & family in a different language: Please reach out.)
I offer D&D 5E games. (Dungeons & Dragons) We play on DnDBeyond/AboveVTT – or if you live near Santander, Spain: Live.

Callie
“As a completely new player, Chris was the perfect DM. I was super nervous going into the first session but he helped our group through the basics in an easily digestible way. It was great fun and a lot of laughs from start to finish, already can’t wait for the next session! I’d highly recommend his games”

Nico
“I have been playing with Chris for a few months now, from my very first learn to play session up to my current level 5 paladin. His games are fun and they move at a good pace. Chris is great at explaining the rules and mechanics and he’s open to novel ideas from the players even if they take things in a really unexpected direction – rule of cool!”

Stasia Le
“Chris is great! I am enjoying our campaign a lot! He is very friendly and easy to talk to, has proficient knowledge about DnD and is amazing and patient at explaining it to beginners (like myself). Moreover he has a great sense of humor, and creates a nice and accepting atmosphere in a group. I would recommend Chris to anyone who wants to start playing, or has experience!”
Chris has hosted over 500 sessions of Dungeons & Dragons

Melissa
“I had such a great time in my beginner session with Chris! He does an excellent job prompting us to think in character while clearly teaching mechanics and strategy in a way that didn’t feel overwhelming. He’s genuinely funny and has amazing improv skills, especially when incorporating unexpected dice rolls into combat. Definitely a welcoming and engaging GM! I’d absolutely recommend!”

Laura
“I´m an absolute D&D beginner and couldn´t have chosen a better dm than Chris. He´s so patient, even if he has to explain the rules again and again ;-)”

Isabelle Clara
“Chris was and still is very accomodating and very nice and I very enjoyed his style as a DM. He is a very good teacher of the game, very patient with beginners (and with the Roll20 system, ha!) He allows room for player creativity and Rule of Cool and knows the rules very well! His descriptions of actions were also very entertaining!”
