Episode 088: Nomadtopia – Part 2

Living Unconventionally Podcast Britany Felix
“I really enjoy being totally solo in that sense. You know, I get to call the shots.”

Today I am continuing my conversation with Amy Scott from Nomadtopia. In 2004 she left a career in book publishing to take a trip around the world and, in 2005, she became a freelance editor in order to keep her travel lifestyle going.

I jumped on the opportunity to pick her brain about publishing a book since most digitals nomads incorporate e-books into their business model.

“I can definitely say that just popping a book up on Amazon and walking away does not sell anything.” – Amy Scott

We also talk about the multiple other ways she’s earned money over the years and she provides advice for people considering renting out their homes while they travel. She also talks about her long-standing podcast, her experiences with sponsorships, and why she is considering changing her format after being on the air for almost two years.

“My motivation was to share stories of what other people are doing with the freedom that location independence gives them.” – Amy Scott
