“Stop giving a shit what people think about you; especially when you’re in the corporate world.”
This week’s guest is Tom Hunt. He is the Founder of Virtual Valley and is going to offer a slightly different perspective from any of my previous guests.
Tom worked in the corporate world for three years before he realized it just wasn’t for him.
“The pain of doing things I didn’t care about, that got too great that I just had to do something about it.” – Tom Hunt
He’s spent the last few years growing his online business and, even though he conducts that business in places like Prague, Poland, Budapest, Croatia, London, Venezuela and more, he says he’s “excessively” focused on the business.
“Whenever I would be out exploring the national parks in Venezuela, I never really truly enjoyed it even though it was like an amazing thing to do because there was this stuff that I need to do back on my laptop.” – Tom Hunt
Tom is working on find a good balance so that he doesn’t look back on his travels and wish he would have been “more present” while in these wonderful and exciting places. He also says that maybe the locations aren’t really the most important thing.
“Maybe the joy is not actually in like sitting on the beach and having a margarita. Maybe the joy is in actually helping other people.” – Tom Hunt
